  • Step Into the Spotlight: Theater Clinic

    Join us for a fun afternoon in the Wiley cafeteria for an introduction to theater! We’ll play exciting theater games, run scenes from popular shows, build confidence on stage, and have a great time with the group. Whether you’re new to theater or already love performing, all 3rd and 4th graders are welcome. This program is a one day class where students will engage in activities and talk a little about theater opportunities for younger kids in the area. It's a great way to get started!
  • Safety Town 2026

    Safety Town is a safety education program offered to children entering young 5's and kindergarten in September. Each section includes eight days of class over a two-week time period. Topics include school bus, bike, and electrical safety, stranger danger, what to do in case of fire, and how to call 911. The children practice reciting their name, address, telephone number, and names of their parents. They also ride bikes in Safety Town Village to practice bike and street safety. Safety Town is a fun, educational experience that will help students become more safety-minded at home, at school, and in the community! Parents will receive a letter in late May with more information. Enrollment is limited.
  • Jr. Crime Scene Detectives

    Experience real-life application in Crime Scene Analysis Become the center of the action as a CSI agent and conduct forensic science experiments. In the laboratory get ready to learn how to collect and perform analyses of evidence, record findings, and use critical thinking to find the culprit. Everyone will enjoy our interactive and amazing crime scene reproductions.

    Songwriters in The Making: Craft Your Own Hits

    Join our fun and interactive songwriting class designed for young music lovers! This exciting program is the perfect opportunity for kids to explore their creative potential, express their emotions, and learn the craft of writing their own songs. Students will dive into the basics of melody, rhythm, and lyrics, all while creating original songs that reflect their unique voices. Whether they’re inspired by their favorite artists or their own experiences, this class provides the perfect space to make music their own.
  • Dexter Esports Camp: Level Up Together!

    Dexter Esports Summer Camp: Level Up Together! Led by a former U-M Project Lead (Virtual School of Computational Science & Engineering), Dexter coach, and local mom. The Dexter Esports Camp is a week-long experience designed for students (ages 7-14) who thrive in a low-pressure digital environment. Unlike high-volume camps, our model focuses on building confidence, social connection, teamwork and sportsmanship through collaborative gaming. Shared World Collaboration: Guided team-building in a private, moderated Minecraft Realm, we value beginners as much as experts. Physical Reset: An hour of fresh air and "unplugged" time to move our bodies! We talk about the joy of gaming while stressing the importance of a regulated mind and body. Open Sandbox: Independent exploration of game mechanics, digital arts, or coding. Free time to explore and share your interests with your new friends! Note: This is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. Students should bring a labeled Nintendo Switch, Laptop, or Tablet, along with headphones and a charger. Students interested in this course should also ensure Minecraft is pre-installed (before the day of camp). Limited Enrollment: Strictly capped at 12 students to ensure a small group atmosphere. 1 adult to 12 student maximum ratio. Communication: We believe in open partnership with parents.     This course provides students with an engaging and interactive space to explore literature through reading, discussion, and critical analysis. Students will read one book, while developing their ability to analyze themes, characters, and writing styles. The course emphasizes thoughtful discussion, creative expression, and connections between literature and real-world experiences. Students will also have the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills by leading discussions, sharing interpretations, and engaging in collaborative activities.     Set the stage and prepare to dazzle! In this beginner-level magic class, students will explore the core principles of magic, including performance techniques and the art of misdirection. Throughout the course, students will practice their skills and prepare to showcase their newly learned tricks in a final magic performance.
  • Improv Explorations: Unleashing Creative Freedom

    Do you want to explore your creativity in acting? This course serves as a creative outlet for students to explore improvisation in a supportive and structured environment. While basic ground rules on appropriateness and conduct will be established on day one, students will have plenty of freedom to express themselves. Together with the instructor, students will engage in improvisational sketches, collaboratively designing material during the first session. The instructor will offer suggestions, but the primary goal is to guide students in selecting their own material, fostering confidence and creativity.

    This course is designed to offer a rich and immersive learning experience in the Spanish language and culture. Beginning with the basics for younger students, the course introduces foundational elements such as vocabulary, common phrases, and basic grammar, using engaging and interactive methods like songs, games, and storytelling. As students progress, the curriculum evolves to cover more complex linguistic structures, including advanced grammar, vocabulary expansion, and conversational fluency, alongside cultural insights into the diverse Spanish-speaking world. The course is crafted to be dynamic and comprehensive, employing a variety of educational tools to ensure a diverse and engaging learning experience. Imagination encircles the world.” - Albert Einstein The Creative Writing Club, brought to you by Afterschool Enrichment Solutions, is designed to ignite the imaginations of young writers, foster their love for language, and cultivate their creative expression. Through exploration of classic literature, inspiring writing exercises, creative language games and collaboration, students will explore different genres, learn and practice grammatical concepts, develop their writing skills, and build confidence in their ability to communicate effectively.
  • Child and Babysitter Safety

    This class is the American Red Cross' babysitter's training This class will prepare you to become one of the most capable, trusted and in-demand sitters in your neighborhood. Babysitter training manual and certificate of completion included in class fee. Class topics include leadership, safety, basic care, first aid and professionalism. Students must be at least 11 years old by class start date and must attend all hours to receive the certification. Students may bring a lunch and water bottle to class.

    Young Rembrandts is offering two different drawing workshops this Summer! K-POP Anime Manga Drawing Workshop (July 6th-10th): Get ready to draw your heart out! Our K-Pop Anime Drawing Workshop is bursting with creative star power. Kids will spend five fun-filled days learning how to draw anime characters in a K-Pop style including specialty eyes, stylish outfits and stage-ready poses. K-Pop artists will use color pencils, Sharpies, and markers to bring every detail to life on large 11x17 poster-sized paper. It’s K-Pop energy meets anime artistry, a perfect mix of art and imagination inspired by one of the most talked-about movies of 2025! Scales and Sparks Drawing Workshop (July 27th-31st): Get ready for a legendary week of creativity! In our Dragon Workshop, young artists will spend five exciting days drawing bold, poster-sized dragons in every shape and personality. Using color pencils, Sharpies, markers and pastels; kids will explore shading, texture, dramatic color effects, and all the details that make dragons come to life.   • Dance Storytelling Camp

    Whether you're a budding ballerina or you can't help but dance when your favorite song comes on the radio, this class is for you! Students will work with their teacher to devise and create a story that will then be put to music and movement, culminating in a final performance at the end of the course. They will also learn the core elements of dance, including movement quality, physical technique, and emotional expression. Feel free to sign up for any or all camp sections! Each section will differ in theme and/or style. For the July camp, the themes are: Morning session: Enchanted Forest Afternoon session: Beneath The Waves For the August camp, the themes are: Morning session: Happily Ever After Afternoon session: Mystery Manor Participants in the class should plan to bring a pair of sneakers or dance shoes.

  • Chess Scholars Camp

    Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance children's motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Each day will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach.

    Summer theater camp is a great opportunity for kids and young teens to be creative, gain confidence, and learn the value of teamwork. We're offering a traditional theater camp for 3rd-6th graders from 9am-noon and a musical theater camp for 3rd-8th graders from 1-4pm. Both camps will meet Monday-Friday and will perform for family and friends on the final day of camp. Please bring a 3-ring binder and pencil to camp. Register today for this fun, summertime program!

    Take a trip to the past! Dig for dinosaur bones and make your very own dinosaur tooth, dinosaur fossil, stegosaurus skeleton and more! Help your fellow Jr. Scientists map out a real life-sized dinosaur! You’ll also explore the world of days past, investigate the secrets of the Earth, go on a rock hunt and search for hidden treasures!
  • NASA - Mad Science

    Mad Science has teamed up with NASA in a quest for exploration! We’ll take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as we explore planets, moons, and other space phenomena in our solar system. Things will heat up as we examine the sun and other stars and discover the difficulties of space travel! Kids will get a firsthand experience of the challenges of living in space as they build circuits while training to be an astronaut. For added fun, we’ll learn about the various technologies that make space exploration possible while bouncing lasers around the room! Kids will love to build their own Mad Science Skyblazer Rocket and participate in a real “NASA” style rocket launch. Campers will receive many cool NASA take homes!
  • Science in Motion Camp - Mad Science

    Discover how things move with science! Each day we'll learn about a different realm of the scientific world. We'll become a zoologist and study the exciting world of birds, including examining owl pellets to see what an owl cannot digest. Join a team of camper engineers and build bridges, domes, cubes, and pyramids. We'll even put on a lab coat and become chemists for the day and make crystal gardens. Jr. Scientists will love constructing birdhouses, completing challenging puzzles, concoct chemistry based creations and explore the many fun sides of science!
