This course will provide you with the info necessary to safely operate a variety of boats and personal watercraft (PWC). Learn navigation rules, boat & PWC operation, maintenance and specific laws & regulations to legally operate watercraft in Michigan. Upon successful completion you will receive a State of MI Boater’s Safety Certificate required for legal operation of any type of personal watercraft (including jet skis) for all persons born after 12/31/1978. Persons under 14 years of age may not legally operate a PWC. Based on feedback from previous participants, participants should be at least 12 years of age. Bring lunch, drinks & snack.

Important: In addition to registering here on the Community Ed platform, the DNR is asking you to register on their site as well in order to receive credit for your certification.
