Scholarship applications for school sports must be submitted before the season begins. ScholarshipsDexter Community Education offers need-based scholarships for most programs to families in the Dexter School District. Scholarships are limited to one per child, per catalog. Students who qualify for free lunch through the school district are generally eligible for a scholarship of up to $100 for one class. Students who qualify for reduced lunch may be eligible for a partial scholarship. Scholarships may also be considered for families with special circumstances on a case-by-case basis. All scholarships require Director approval. Scholarships cannot be applied to programs not run by Community Education or to classes that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements. If you register for a class using a scholarship and cancel less than one week before the class start date, the scholarship will be forfeited for that semester. Additional scholarship funding may be available through Faith in Action of Dexter and is awarded on a case-by-case basis. To apply for a Community Education scholarship, complete the scholarship application (available in our office and on our website) and return it as soon as you know you are interested. We will confirm eligibility and hold registration until the class meets minimum enrollment. Your child’s place in line will be reserved, and once the class meets the minimum, we will complete the registration and send a confirmation of enrollment.
