Discover the exciting world of field hockey with Dexter Community Education's comprehensive programs designed for boys and girls in grades 2 through 8. Our courses focus on fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, and team concepts. Parents are responsible for providing a stick, shin guards and mouthguard for practice and games. Sticks and shin guards can be provided for new players on a short-term basis.
2nd to 4th graders: program includes weekday practices and inter-squad games on Saturdays during the spring. Additionally, 3rd and 4th graders have the option to participate in weekend games during the fall/spring league managed by Ann Arbor Rec & Ed.
5th and 6th graders: program offers spring travel teams with one practice in Dexter and weekend games in the league managed by Ann Arbor Rec & Ed (times TBD).
Information is coming regarding 7th and 8th graders, our spring Community Ed travel team features one practice and one weekend game in the league managed by Ann Arbor Rec & Ed.
Our programs are led by a dedicated team of coaches, including former collegiate athletes, parents, DHS alumni, and current DHS Field Hockey student-athletes. We prioritize creating a fun environment with positive role modeling, team building, and skill instruction for all levels, regardless of ability.
