  • 7th Grade Lock-In Registration 2024

    All eligible 7th grade students are invited to sign-up to participate in the 7th grade lock-in Friday, May 10th starting after school until 8:00pm. The cost is $25 and parents must register students via Eleyo. By submitting payment on Eleyo, parents and students acknowledge that they have read and agree to the rules for participation outlined in this document. Students must be registered via Eleyo by FRIDAY, May 3rd. (We suggest that you register early to avoid forgetting!) IF ANY PARENT WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER, PLEASE SIGN UP AT THIS LINK. Eligibility: Students may not attend the Lock-In if they received two N’s in citizenship on the Third Quarter Report Card or if they have been suspended during the last ½ of 3rd quarter or during 4th quarter. (We will refund registration if your child is not eligible. This is the only refund that will be given.) Tentative Schedule for the Lock-In: 3:15 – 4:30 pm.*Open Gym (volleyball, basketball, etc.) (students may bring outside sports equipment from home- make sure it is labeled with your name) *Karaoke & Music - Cafeteria *Cards, hanging out, games- Cafeteria Hallway *Outside Activities starting at 3:45pm (gaga ball, football, frisbee, etc.) if the weather cooperates 4:30 – 5:30 pm.*Pizza, Pop & Music (Dance/Karaoke) – Landing 5:30 – 8:00 pm.*Bounce House, Gladiator Jousting,Obstacle Course, Giant Slide - Gym *Karaoke, Bingo, Cards- Cafeteria & Hallway *Mill Creek Book of World Records - Hallway *Movie Room – Media Center Attire: *Clothing needs to be school appropriate. No spaghetti straps, low-cut shirts or open midriff areas. We should see no one’s underwear or undergarments. *Shoes must be removed when playing on giant inflatables, so socks are required. Medical Information: * If your child requires medication given between 3:10pm – 8:00pm, please contact Crystal Zurek at zurekc@dexterschools.org or call the Mill Creek Office at 734-424-4150 to make arrangements ahead of time. * We do not keep over the counter medication on hand at the Lock-In. * If your child has any other health concerns we should know about, please contact Crystal Zurek at zurekc@dexterschools.org. Additional Rules for the Lock-In: * Students must stay after school to attend the lock-in. Students may not leave the building and then enter the lock-in late without a parent to sign them in. * Students should not be running (except in a supervised game), pushing, jumping off the cafeteria steps or play fighting with each other at any time. If a student is being too physical with another student, we will call for the student to be picked up. * When participating in a supervised outdoor activity, students must remain on school grounds in the designated area. * No student shall open a door to the outside after 4:30pm. All students will remain in the building from 4:30pm until they are dismissed at 8:00pm (or signed out early by a parent). * When students are in the gym they should use equipment appropriately. If equipment is used dangerously or abused it will be taken away and/or the student will be sent home. * No skateboards, skateboarding or rollerblading will be allowed anytime during the Lock-In. * Students are discouraged from bringing their own food. Throughout the course of the event we will have pizza, pop, and snacks available. * Students ARE encouraged to bring their own water bottles! * If your child needs to arrive late or leave early, you will just need to enter the building to sign them out at that time. If your child is leaving early, please make sure they know to meet you at the front door to be checked out at the pre-determined time. *The event will begin after school and end promptly at 8:00 pm. Parents, please be prompt in picking up your child. Students must be registered via Eleyo by FRIDAY, May 3rd. By registering & submitting payment on Eleyo, you are agreeing to the following terms: *We have read the Lock-In rules and agree to abide by them. *We understand that all other Mill Creek rules also apply during the Lock-In. *We know that failure to follow rules will result in the student being sent home

  • DHS - Forensics State Tournament 23-24

    Forensics Team Invitational and Qualifier Participation For students to participate in Forensics, there is a Pay to Participate Fee. The fees are necessary to pay registration and judge fees for the tournaments we attend. We are offering 6 tournaments during the competition season. This fee will allow students to participate in the invitational tournaments as well as the State Qualifying Tournament. If a student advances to the MIFA State Championship, there will be an additional fee because it is a 2 day tournament which will require an overnight stay in a hotel. The Mackinac Tournament will be separate too once we get the invitation and find out how much it will cost. MIFA State Forensics Tournament Cost: $85 DUE BY APRIL 29, 2024 The fee covers participation at the MIFA State Forensics Tournament on May 3-4 at Kellogg Community College and an overnight at the Fairfield In in Battle Creek Michigan. The issue is distributed four times each school year (November, January, March, and May), and is available to students, staff, and the local community. Prices are as follows for specific ad sizes: $50 for a business card (3 2/3" x 2"), $130 for a quarter page (3 2/3" x 5"), $250 for a half page (7 1/2" x 5"), and $500 for a full page (7 1/2" x 10").     Student Membership is open to all Drama Club students. This internationally recognized organization is devoted entirely to supporting theatre education. Students can become a member of the Honor Society and earn awards, attend special events, apply for scholarships, and receive educational materials. One-time fee is good for all years at DHS and can be transferred if the student switches school districts.

    7th Grade Camp Payment (September 2024) During the second week of the school year, September 9-13, 2024, the 7th grade class will be attending camp at YMCA Storer Camp in Napoleon Michigan. Students will attend the full week, overnight, and will participate in 14 hours of classes that center around team/community building, academics, and typically outdoor activities.
