Baseball/Softball Umpire Clinic

Community Ed Programming / Youth Recreation and Sports -
Spring 2026

If you have a passion for baseball or softball, becoming an umpire allows you to stay closely connected to the sport you love. It's a way to be part of the action and contribute to the growth of the game.

Have the opportunity to register as a certified umpire and begin umpiring games from little league to high school varsity thru the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). Compensation varies depending on the level of play, umpiring can provide a supplemental income, especially at higher levels.

THIS IS NOT THE UMPIRE TRAINING THAT DEXTER LITTLE LEAGUE PROVIDES.

The MHSAA Student Legacy Officials Program was put in place to allow high school students to learn the skill of officiating in a controlled environment under the guidance, supervision and mentorship of a veteran MHSAA official. The structure of the program allows flexibility in the development of officials based on sport, background, skill set and officiating opportunities.
