Dexter Esports Summer Camp: Level Up Together!
Led by a former U-M Project Lead (Virtual School of Computational Science & Engineering), Dexter coach, and local mom. The Dexter Esports Camp is a week-long experience designed for students (ages 7-14) who thrive in a low-pressure digital environment. Unlike high-volume camps, our model focuses on building confidence, social connection, teamwork and sportsmanship through collaborative gaming.
Shared World Collaboration: Guided team-building in a private, moderated Minecraft Realm, we value beginners as much as experts.
Physical Reset: An hour of fresh air and "unplugged" time to move our bodies! We talk about the joy of gaming while stressing the importance of a regulated mind and body.
Open Sandbox: Independent exploration of game mechanics, digital arts, or coding. Free time to explore and share your interests with your new friends!
Note: This is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. Students should bring a labeled Nintendo Switch, Laptop, or Tablet, along with headphones and a charger. Students interested in this course should also ensure Minecraft is pre-installed (before the day of camp).
Limited Enrollment: Strictly capped at 12 students to ensure a small group atmosphere. 1 adult to 12 student maximum ratio.
Communication: We believe in open partnership with parents. If your student has specific needs, please reach out for a confidential chat. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your child more comfortable. *Group gaming, zero-pressure socializing, inclusion and choice autonomy!*
Interested students can sign up here for one week at a time. Registration times include the overall session length, and the additional time slot (10:30AM-11:30AM) marks outdoor time on the playground (see physical reset section above)
