Mill Creek "Our Human Journey" class field trip:
We are fortunate to have high quality resources in our community where our students can learn more about the academic topics we study in our curriculum. We are excited for our upcoming field trip to the University of Michigan Natural History Museum, the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, and the University of Michigan Museum of Art as a culminating experience in the class. We will be learning about prehistoric animals; primates and hominids; genetics; fossils; scientific research; artifacts from Egyptian, Middle Eastern and Roman civilizations, and art from a wide variety of historical periods and genre.
We love to have adult volunteers to accompany us on this trip. If you are available to join us, please email Cheryl Darnton at <darntonc@dexterschools.org>. All adult volunteers are required to complete the Volunteer Form once per school year, as per DCS policy.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Educational Foundation of Dexter (EFD), entry fees for the museums have been paid. We must ask for a contribution for the transportation cost. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, please email Mrs Darnton so she can send home a paper permission slip for you to authorize for your student to leave Dexter for the trip.
